About Local Security Expert
Independent security proposal reviews for better buying decisions
Local Security Expert provides independent, buyer-side reviews of professionally prepared video surveillance and physical security proposals.
We do not sell equipment, design the project, manage the installation, or represent the company that prepared the proposal. Our role is to provide a practical second opinion before the customer signs a contract or commits to a system purchase.
Why the service exists
Security proposals can be difficult to evaluate. A document may include cameras, recorders, labor, and a total price while leaving important questions unanswered about storage, licensing, recurring costs, warranties, networking, remote access, scalability, and operational fit.
Local Security Expert helps the buyer understand what is documented, what is unclear, and what should be confirmed before moving forward.
What we review
Depending on the documentation provided, a Security Proposal Review may address:
- Proposal completeness and scope clarity
- Camera type, resolution, and application assumptions
- Recording architecture, storage, and retention assumptions
- Licensing, subscriptions, and recurring costs
- Network requirements and remote access
- Warranty, support, and service coverage
- Cloud dependencies and system scalability
- Operational fit for the customer’s stated needs
- Questions that should be answered before signing
What the customer receives
The customer receives a written report with documented observations, areas requiring clarification, potential technical or operational concerns, and specific questions to ask the proposal provider.
The purpose is not to attack the integrator or manufacturer. The purpose is to help the buyer make a more informed decision with a clearer understanding of the proposed system.
Independent and vendor-neutral
Local Security Expert is not tied to a specific manufacturer, distributor, integrator, cloud platform, or security-system brand.
A higher price does not automatically mean a proposal is overpriced. The review considers whether the equipment, services, labor, licensing, warranty, support, and recurring costs are clearly documented and appropriate for the stated application.
Service limitations
Local Security Expert provides document-based proposal reviews. The service does not provide engineering stamps, code-compliance certification, legal advice, insurance advice, system-performance guarantees, installation supervision, or project management.
Recommendations are based on the documentation and information supplied by the customer.
